Now that fall fashion week has officially came and gone , and women everywhere are getting ready to purchase there favorite looks I'm still thinking about one show I volunteered for which is Harlem's Fashion Row. Harlem's Fashion Row is a small company started by a women who wants nothing more than to see upcoming minority designers make it in the fashion industry. Brandice Henderson has a vision to help the unknown become known and by starting HFR she has given many fresh and talented designers the setting to showcase their work. I had the pleasure to work behind the scenes at last Fridays spring summer 2011 show and I was truly excited and grateful to be there. Unlike many fashion shows that are put on for the public this one was unique and true to the vision and everything HFR stands for. The setting for the gifted designers Niiamar, Sammy B. , Teflar and Viscera NY was none other than the Studio Museum right on 125th street in Harlem. Each designers clothing was set up like a display of artwork within the rooms of the studio and was visually amazing because in my eyes each designers work is art in one of its most creative forms. The fashion exhibit of the designers was amazing, the people who attended and the wonderful staff of HFR were all amazing and this is an experience and show I will never forget. Everyone continue to support the designers and Harlem's Fashion Row because the talent being introduced are true gems!!!! For more information check HFR site
